The prestigious Challenge Tour event is to be staged at the impressive Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena from August 29th – September 1st.

Tournament Ambassador and European Tour golfer, Michael Hoey said “It promises to be a fantastic tournament with over 30,000 spectators”.

“The Tournament at Galgorm will provide the support for the next generation of Irish professional aspiring to be one of the Nations next great players and also provides many experienced players the opportunities to re-establish themselves within European Golf”, says Mark Aspland, European Tour.

The event was launched in our wonderful Four Season Suite with guests including Minister of Tourism Arlene Foster.  Arlene praised how it will be a fantastic boost for the local economy and wonderfully described Northern Ireland as, “big enough to do business and small enough to care”.

We look forward to the Northern Ireland Challenge Cup and are sure it is going to be a landmark event for Northern Ireland in 2013.

Our event’s special guest was current Miss Northern Ireland Tiffany Brien. Tiffany said, “Winning Miss Northern Ireland was probably the most memorable day of my life”. She continued on to praise the competition for opening up a world of opportunity to her, that has seen her travel across Europe and even as far as Asia.

Happy New year!

Here at Galgorm Reosrt & Spa we launched Northern Irelands first interactive advent calendar Facebook Application, which proved to be a fantastic success with our Facebook Fans.

For 24 Days we provided 24 Christmas Gifts to our loyal Facebook Fans. These ranged from River Room lunches, complimentary glasses of bubbly and Christmas Cocktails as well as Spa & discounted overnight stays.

As part of our 24 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar campaign we gave away a Luxury River Room Hamper worth over £350, prepared by our River Room Chef Chris Bell.  To win the prize our Facebook fans had to send us a picture of themselves with the caption “Happy Christmas Galgorm”.

“There initiative has brought great buzz about our workplace, as well as banter from the female staff and our guests.” said co-organiser Peter McNicholl.  “The idea was initially suggested by our Head Chef William Johnston and everyone has been brilliant taking it on board.  The sponsors have been rolling in and it is  credit to our co-workers and suppliers generosity.”

By encouraging men (“Mo Bros”) to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides getting an annual check-up, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of any family history of cancer, and to adopt a more healthy lifestyle.
