The luxurious Galgorm Resort & Spa in Ballymena has outshone competitors at the annual tourism awards ceremony in Belfast last night (Thursday 30 May 2013) by bagging the prestigious ‘Best Hotel Accommodation’ award.
Tourism was centre stage throughout 2012 as a result of the ni2012 campaign which moved tourism into a key position in the Northern Ireland economy.
With 30 businesses, initiatives and events awarded on the night, Galgorm Resort & Spa fought off stiff competition for the much-sought after title, which carries one of the biggest honours of the awards.
Speaking about winning the award Yvonne Smyth, General Manager at Galgorm Resort & Spa said:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have been chosen by the Panel for this particular award, it’s such a huge honour to be recognised by our industry peers and reflects to us that all of the hard work over the past 12 months is most definitely paying off.
“We’ve underwent some major transformations over the past few years and the success we’ve seen as a result has been most encouraging. We want to build upon these achievements and continue to strive to be the best on the island for luxury accommodation.
“This accolade marks an exciting time at the Resort & Spa as we continue to grow as a business and enter into the busiest time of year; summer. Just as last year, we have some great offers coming up that guests can take advantage of as we hope to continue to build upon last year’s success.”
This fantastic achievement for Galgorm Resort & Spa is one of many exciting upcoming prospects for the hotel. With an impressive £1 million renovation taking place next Spring to the Upper Great Hall and summer offers such as the Summer Soother overnight stay package and delectable new menu at Gillies Bar and Grill, Galgorm Resort & Spa are eager to show their continued commitment to bringing the highest level of tourism excellence to their guests.
