Title - Operations Manager

JOB REFERENCE: OM 10/14

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about hospitality and is dedicated to achieving standards of service excellence throughout all departments of this award winning hotel, and somebody who is able to continue and improve upon its successful operation. The successful Operations Manager will have management and operational experience from a quality 4*/5* hotel environment, have excellent communication and organisational skills and have the personality to motivate and delegate effectively.

Galgorm Resort & Spa is an opulent 75 bedroom 4 Star deluxe Resort & Spa complex, and in light of the Resorts previous and continued investment in our exceptional and market leading establishment, we are now seeking to appoint a charismatic person to join our growing Management Team. Key responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include:

  • Lead and motivate the team on a daily basis to ensure guests expectations are exceeded by delivering a first class service.
  • Optimise sales in all areas of the hotel and manage costs in line with budgets.
  • Evaluate and monitor standards within operational departments and make improvements where necessary to ensure that the highest level of guest service is provided at all times.
  • Review all weekly staff rota forecasts and ensure productivity is in line with forecasted sales.

  • Participate in all relevant departmental, management and company meetings and to drive the customer service strategy.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment adhering to all legislative requirements in relation to licensing laws, health and safety, fire and environmental requirements.

This is a busy, varied and hands-on full time role. The hours of an Operations Manager will be to meet the needs of the business and will include evening and weekend shifts.

As an Operations Manager, it is essential you have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience of working in an Operations Manager role or similar, ideally within a high end 4*/5* hotel, with strong knowledge of all departments
  • Experience of managing, training and developing a successful team

  • Strong knowledge of the hotel/leisure/service sector
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use own initiative

  • You must ensure that all food prepared is to the standards required in terms of food safety, quality and portion control while working in an open kitchen.

Title - Front Office Assistant (Hotel)

Reporting to: Duty Mananger

JOB REFERENCE: FOA 10/14

Job Purpose: We are looking to recruit a Full time Front Office Assistant with excellent customer service skills, and excellent attention to detail. The Resort has a very positive working environment, where all our team members are encouraged, with our full support, to plan and tailor their development, and use their initiative to best serve their clients.

The main purpose of this position is to cover reception, room sales and switch board as required.

The Position:

  • To work within office guidelines to ensure that all client bookings are accurate.
  • To deal with all client queries – by phone, post, online and face-to-face.
  • To maintain a good knowledge of all the Resort’s services in order to deal with daily client queries and bookings.
  • To identify and maximise sales opportunities in all client queries/contact.
  • To carry out Front of House procedures as per the daily checklists.
  • To carry out administrative duties as required.
  • Work within the guidelines of health and safety operatives to ensure all staff and guests are safe at all times.

The Person:

The successful candidate will have;

  • 6 months experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment as a receptionist or administrator.
  • Confident IT skills to include word and excel.
  • Experience working as a switchboard operator (desirable).
  • A good administrative and customer service background with the ability to demonstrate skills in both.
  • The desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Warm, friendly and energetic with a great pride in your overall appearance.
  • A flexible work approach.
  • Experience or an interest in the hospitality industry.

Spa Therapist

(both full time and part time positions available)

Job Reference: ST08/14

Job Purpose: We are currently recruiting a Spa Therapist to work as an experienced member of a friendly and professional team and to deliver a 5* standard of treatment and customer service to all Spa guests and members.   

The Person:

  • An NVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in beauty therapy is essential.
  • Ideally 2-3 years experience working in a similar spa environment.
  • A proven track record of exceeding retail sales targets and delivering outstanding   customer service within the beauty industry.
  • The ability to demonstrate your initiative and have a compassionate, intuitive, caring and sensitive understanding of clients’ needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of working within a fast-paced environment.
  • High standards and the ability to grow and develop others around you and pass on your knowledge.
  • Successful candidates will be warm, friendly and energetic with a great pride in their overall appearance.
  • There are opportunities for both full time and part time positions, please note candidates must be flexible in their work approach, as both evening and weekend work is expected.

Food and Beverage Assistant

Job Reference: FBA 08/14

Job Purpose: To carry out any daily duties as required and assist in maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of Food and Beverage Service while ensuring customers enjoy a positive and high quality experience.

The Position:

  • Consistently provide a friendly and efficient service to ensure each guest leaves with the desire to return.
  • Work in a professional manner with all guests and customers.
  • Observe all Company and Statutory Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Participate in the daily duties allocated by your supervisor or management team, ensuring all planned work is carried out to the required standards
  • Take responsibility for the security and safe handling of all equipment used within the Food and Beverage service areas.
  • To have a full and complete knowledge of the menu enabling you to assist with any guest or customer queries.
  • Accurately take and process through the Resort billing systems all food and beverage orders.
  • When necessary pass on any relevant information to the supervisors/management which has been given to you by a guest which highlights any specific issue or concern.
  • Ensure knowledge of the resort and facilities is up to date in order to upsell to guests if the
  • opportunity arises.
  • Adhere to the appearance and grooming standards required by the Resort at all times.
  • Attend any training that has been set up to aid your personal development.
  • Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy throughout your shift.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have a positive and friendly attitude coupled with an enthusiastic approach to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Previous waiting experience.
  • Have a sense of pride in the delivery of high standards of presentation, hygiene and the Galgorm Resort & Spa brand.
