Skin Surgical Removal & Joint Injections

Skin Surgical Removal & Joint Injections

Moles, skin tags, cysts, lipomas, age spots, warts, haemangiomas (small cherry red blood-filled lesions) and thread veins are all very common skin lesions which cause concern for many people.

Depending on the type size and location of the skin lesion there may be several options for removal including simple surgical excision under local anaesthetic. Some lesions may be removed by freezing the skin with liquid Nitrogen (Cryotherapy), using an electric current to cauterise the lesion (Hyfrecator/Electrosurgery) or by using the ND YAG laser.

Hydrocortisone injections are used to treat swollen or painful joints, such as after an injury or if you have arthritis. The hydrocortisone is injected directly into the painful joint. This is called an intra-articular injection. The joints most often injected are the shoulder, elbow, knee, hand, wrist or hip. The injections usually help relieve pain and swelling, and make movement easier After discussing your medical history and an examination of the affected area by the Doctor the injection can be performed within a number of minutes.
