Shepherds Hut Stays

Nestled in Galgorm Wood with the cascading River Maine running alongside, our Shepherd's Huts are perfect for luxurious, yet laid back countryside living.

Each hut is luxuriously appointed with a mini kitchen with facilities including hob, microwave, fridge and small freezer, coffee machine, kettle & toaster. The interior bathroom includes a shower room however the standout feature must be the outdoor bath on the terrace - get back to nature and bathe in the views, before watching the sun go down beside the fire pit. No weekend break would be complete without some entertainment. Guests can enjoy live music daily in McKendry’s Bar from 10pm. If you choose to dine in the Castle Kitchen + Bar you can enjoy live music from 8pm on Friday’s, 7pm on Saturday’s and 5pm on Sunday’s.

The highly anticipated Second UK Aufguss Championships are set to take place at the prestigious Galgorm Resort in Northern Ireland from April 22nd to 24th, 2024. This exhilarating event promises to showcase the epitome of sauna culture, bringing together enthusiasts, professionals, and spectators for a unique and immersive experience.

The UK Aufguss Championships, recognised as the pinnacle of sauna competitions, will feature competitors from around the country, each vying for the coveted title of Aufguss Champion and a place at the Aufguss VM World Championships which will be held in Holland in September. Contestants will demonstrate their mastery of the art of Aufguss, an ancient European sauna ritual that involves infusing essential oils into the sauna air, creating a sensory journey for participants.

Galgorm Resort, home to the first UK Aufguss Champion Pavel Poliacek and known for its reputation as one of the world’s premier, luxury destinations and provides an unrivalled backdrop for this international gathering of sauna professionals. Attendees can expect a sensory feast as the competitors skilfully blend aromas, heat, and theatrical techniques to captivate the audience and judges alike.

What makes a spa best or recommended?

The AA’s aim is to showcase member establishments that have noteworthy spas worth visiting and are a key part of the hotel experience. These awards are supported by the annual inspections and experience of the UK hospitality landscape. Inspectors’ quality assess elements such as: reception, changing rooms, wet areas, gyms and treatment rooms, where quality and condition of these areas is the key driver.

Spas come in all different shapes, sizes and styles however all featured spas will have the following standards:

· Dedicated reception and staff 

· Several treatment rooms and a broad range of spa treatments 

· Its size should be appropriate to the hotel

· Dedicated changing rooms

· Towel and robe provision
