Firstly, congratulations on your engagement and we look forward to welcoming you to Castle Couture. This is a very exciting yet at times panic-inducing period for a bride so we are going to offer a few words of advice having been in the business now for 17 years! These are some of the questions we get asked on a daily basis.
We always recommend that you purchase your dress a year before the big day. This means there is plenty of time for the dress to arrive and to have your final fittings. Not only that, the dress sets the theme for the wedding so it allows time then to consider colour schemes, bridesmaids dresses, flowers, mother of the bride/groom etc. On the other hand, if for some reason you don’t have the luxury of time, we would rather you still come down to see us. You could be lucky enough to find your perfect dress in store and you take it with you on the day, or the designer will turn it around for us, if possible, in a few weeks in an emergency!
Yes, all of our appointments are private, so this is essential. A few weeks notice for a Saturday is advised, but give us a call anyway just to check! Weekday appointments are usually more readily available.
Obviously, you can bring whoever you want with you, but in our experience one or two opinions in comparison to a big group makes for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
We are so excited about the new collections for 2019 arriving soon. The designers we work with are well established and they are producing some of the strongest collections we’ve seen to date! We can’t speak highly enough of their craftsmanship and the fabrics they work with. The new season will bring some classically fitted gowns with Bardot necklines to softer, romantic styles that have a more fluid quality. From striking, plain silk crepe, to finely embellished tulle, there really is something for everyone!
If you have a little research under your belt before your visit to us, this will make for a more productive and enjoyable appointment. You will have more chance of trying on more dresses that you actually love rather than spending time trying on dresses that don’t suit your body shape, your theme, your venue etc.
