Tell us a little abou how you met
We met when we were 19, while studying Design at Ulster University. Safe to say it was love at first sight and we have been inseparable ever since!
Talk us through the proposal
It was the most beautiful, sunny Spring day in Central Park, New York. James got down on one knee, on a tiny row boat in the middle of the Lake- it was so romantic! We celebrated with cheese fries from Shake Shack and a trip the to Met Gala.
Ceremony
At the gorgeous Phantom House. We had a Humanist ceremony from Steve Ames. It was so lovely & personal to us and we were able to write our own vows.
Reception
The fabulous Renaissance Suite, it was the perfect setting with the two separate rooms for our afternoon tea, cocktail hour and ‘rock & roll Bingo’ in the comfy sofa area, then our dinner and dancing in the grand room.
Why Galgorm
We have always loved staying at Galgorm. Having everything we needed, and more, in the one place really stood out. All our bridal party were able to chill out at the spa the day before and we were able to keep the celebrations going the day after with our ‘I Do BBQ’.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
Honestly, we couldn’t just pick just one favourite part, the whole day from start to finish was absolutely perfect! From the getting ready, to the ceremony, the photographs, dinner and dancing- with 3 postponements we were a little apprehensive that something else might go wrong. I think us having to wait an extra year meant we appreciated each and everything just that little bit more, it was so special.
Advice for future couples
Don’t sweat the small stuff, it can be quite overwhelming at times planning a wedding- but the most important thing is that you are celebrating your love in front of your nearest and dearest. But also make sure to order huge foam glow sticks for the party!
