Why We Love What We Do: Our Galgorm Wedding Planners

At Galgorm, our Wedding Planners are at the heart of every celebration, ensuring every detail of the wedding planning process is immaculate. From coordinating our in-house wedding team to working alongside trusted suppliers, what moments with the jouney do our Wedding Planners cherish most?

Enya

What I love most about being a wedding planner at Galgorm is getting to be part of the whole journey. From that first chat where the couple tell you all about their plans (and you can see how excited they are), right through to the big day when everything comes together.

Jenny

What I love most about being a wedding planner at Galgorm is the absolute honour of walking alongside my couples from that very first viewing appointment right through to the moment they say ‘I do!’. Being a part of their journey is something truly special.

I love those initial viewing appointments. There is nothing quite like watching each couples face light up as they step into one of our gorgeous spaces, such as the Renaissance Suite or the romantic Phantom House. You can almost see the moment it becomes real for them, when they start picturing themselves standing at the top of the aisle or sitting at the top table. I love hearing them excitedly chat about their décor ideas, how they will personalise the reception suites to reflect their style, and the little touches that will make their day uniquely theirs. Then that wonderful moment when we confirm their date, the excitement, the happy nerves, it never gets old!

What makes it even more rewarding is knowing the Galgorm packages are thoughtfully designed to take the stress away. Couples can truly enjoy the planning process rather than feel overwhelmed by it all. With us as the planners by their side every step of the way the experience becomes not just seamless, but genuinely enjoyable.

Sarah

For me, it’s the first appointment. Watching couples experience their chosen ceremony and reception space for the first time, you can feel the nervous excitement begin to build as they start envisioning their wedding day with all their loved ones in the room. This moment gives me chills everytime.  I also love getting to know my couples throughout the process, so when their wedding day arrives, it feels so personal. Seeing everything come together for them is incredibly rewarding.

Donna

My favourite part of being a wedding planner at Galgorm is the opportunity to play a part in one of the most meaningful days of the couples life. I love getting to know each couple, understanding their vision and helping them to plan a day that feels uniquely theirs. Watching their excitement build as everything comes together and seeing how happy they are on the day reminds me why I love my job.

There’s also something uniquely satisfying about the behind‑the‑scenes magic. Coordinating suppliers, keeping everything flowing smoothly, those quiet victories make the day feel effortless for the couple, even though so much planning happens in the background. I love being the calm presence they can rely on, the person who makes everything feel possible.

At Galgorm, weddings aren’t just events, they’re experiences filled lifelong memories. Being part of a team that creates that atmosphere and delivers those memories is something I truly cherish. It’s not just a job, it’s an honour, and a joy to be part of so many love stories.

The emotive campaign, featuring Janet’s cover of Time After Time, celebrates the joy of slowing down, spending time with loved ones, and the simple magic of Christmas

Gortin-born singer-songwriter Janet Devlin takes a starring role in Christmas All Around, the festive film from Northern Ireland’s premier luxury hotel group, Galgorm Collection. Janet, who has released three studio albums - including her latest, Emotional Rodeo - and authored the 2020 memoir, My Confessional, rose to public attention on ITV’s The X Factor in 2011. For Christmas All Around she performs an emotive rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time - celebrated for its timeless message of love, care, and connection, and lending the film a resonant, timeless soundtrack.

At the heart of the festive film lies a simple question: What do you give, when what they really want… is time? The story unfolds across Galgorm Collection’s portfolio of award-winning properties, weaving together four distinct vignettes that explore different ways to spend time well.

Bridging the Skills Gap: NI Hospitality School Secures 36 Jobs for Graduates in Ballymena

NI Hospitality School Joins Forces with Private Business Securing 36 Jobs

Jobs Secured by Graduates in Ballymena via NI Hospitality School to Tackle Skills Development and Employment Deficit in Sector.

A TOTAL of 36 individuals from the Ballymena area are celebrating this week after graduating from the NI Hospitality School and securing full-time employment within local award-winning hotels.

The NI Hospitality School was established in 2021, following collaboration between three Ballymena-based hotels – Galgorm Resort, the Tullyglass House Hotel and the Adair Arms. With courses delivered by Northern Regional College and South Eastern Regional College, the school was set up to provide opportunities for skills development, to address the challenges of recruiting staff and to highlight that a career in hospitality can offer a plethora of rewarding career development opportunities.

Initially funded by independent charity, The Gallaher Trust, the NI Hospitality School has successfully attracted private sector funding from several high-profile organisations including Henderson Foodservice and Britvic Ireland, which is a demonstration of commitment from the wider sector.

According to Eddie McKeever, Managing Director of McKeever Hotel Group and Chairman of the NI Hospitality School, the initiative has far exceeded its goal and is playing an essential role in elevating skills and helping to secure the sector’s future.

“At the NI Hospitality School, we recognise the significant challenges the industry faces, particularly around recruitment and developing a sustainable and highly skilled workforce,” explained Eddie.

“Through targeted training and support, we’re working to bridge these gaps by equipping individuals with the expertise and confidence needed to maintain a thriving career within the hospitality sector. By creating opportunities for meaningful employment and continuous professional development, we’re ensuring that both employees and employers have the tools they need to succeed, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and dynamic hospitality industry in Northern Ireland.

“I would like to pay homage to The Gallaher Trust, whose initial funding enabled the NI Hospitality School to come to fruition. The fact that we have now attracted funding from the private sector is evidence of the enhanced reputation and success of the school since it was established three years ago. A number of businesses within the private sector have recognised the importance of securing a pipeline of future talent and we are truly very grateful for their support. We are looking forward to the future of the school and to providing greater benefits to our participants and to the hospitality industry as a whole.”

The NI Hospitality School encompasses a number of academies including a bar academy, a chef academy and a food service academy.

Formerly a Chef, Skye Hanley aged 23 from Ballymena, is an NI Hospitality School food service academy graduate, who has pivoted her career and now works in a guest facing role as a Food and Beverage Assistant in Gillies Grill and Elements at Galgorm Resort.

“Transitioning from working in the kitchen to a guest facing role has been a very rewarding experience,” she said.

“The training I received at the NI Hospitality School gave me the confidence and skills I needed to thrive in my new role. Taking part in the course has shown me the wealth of growth opportunities that are available to me – I’m really excited for my future.”

Galgorm Collection Supports Digital Learning at Local School

Hospitality group, Galgorm Collection has donated funds to local primary school, Kells and Connor PS, to support the purchase of new iPads for the school’s pupils to use.

Kells and Connor Primary School is situated just outside Ballymena and has over 200 pupils attending the school from the surrounding rural area.

Colin Johnston, CEO, Galgorm Collection said:

“We are delighted to provide a donation to Kells and Connor Primary School for the purchase of new iPads. Access to quality, up-to-date technology is vital for children to learn digital skills from a young age and at Galgorm, we understand how much businesses rely on digital technology, so it is fantastic that children have the opportunity to learn and develop these skills early.”

Digital learning complements traditional learning methods within Northern Ireland primary schools and an in-depth research project conducted by Stranmillis University College found that young children's maths, English and communication skills improve if they use iPads in school on a regular basis.
