Tell us a little about how you met and talk us through the proposal
The stars aligned (figuratively and literally) one evening in October 2021, when Sarah happened to log into Tinder in the same few hours that Ali had travelled to Dublin to catch up with some friends, putting her within Sarah's distance radius on the app for that evening only. Both of them swiped right, and the rest is history. Hundreds of messages were exchanged, multiple semi-awkward phone calls were had (plus one overly shy video call), before they decided to meet.
So on November 19th, 2021, Sarah finally learned that Ali was only really confident behind a screen and was actually quite shy in real life. And Ali learned that 5ft 1" is actually much taller than she first thought.
Sarah had an inkling Ali was going to propose, of course she had to win, so she planned a romantic picnic proposal in a cabin in Enniskeen, surrounded by deer. Of course Ali said yes. Not to be outdone, Ali then took Sarah on a surprise trip to Zermatt and proposed at the top of the Matterhorn! Even though they were already engaged, she was still nervous and was relieved when Sarah also agreed to marry her!
