The Castle Championship Course

The Castle Championship Course

Host venue of the 2020 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open won by USA's John Catlin and the Home of the ISPS Hand World Invitational, the Castle championship course is the heart of professional golf tournaments in Nothern Ireland.

The Par-72 layout is one of Ireland's finest parklands and was designed by Simon Gidman, opened in 1997. The course is nestled in the heart of the 2020-acre historic Galgorm Castle Estate, providing a mature setting that promotes an easy, relaxing rhythm that makes playing golf so pleasurable. The course is bordered by the river Maine and Braid which come into play a numerous holes, as well as five lakes and magnificent oxbow lake adjacent to the 14th hole.

A variety of teeing areas provide an exciting and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities and its central location means the course is a must-visit for any golfers planning a trip to Northern Ireland.

“The long drive into the Estate shows off one of the best holes, the 10th - wild, spacious and enthralling…the course undulates gently so it feels like a pleasant walk, which makes golf all the more enjoyable” (theirishgolfblog.com)

In August 2018 the clubhouse bar & restaurant reopened following a £750,000 redesign and the Castle Kitchen + Bar is a stunning addition to Galgorm Castle estate and further strengthens Galgorm Castle’s reputation as a modern, top-level golf club, whilst offering a new dining option for hotel guests.
