Galgorm Resort’s Accessibility Guide

At Galgorm Resort, we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our guests. If you require any additional assistance or have any special requests, please do not hesitate to reach out to our friendly staff who are always on hand to help 24/7.

Arrival and Parking

To ensure your comfort and convenience, we recommend using the main hotel entrance located at the front of the hotel. This entrance has level access.

Our friendly doorperson will be available to assist you with entering the building and carrying your luggage. Accessible parking spaces are located close to the main hotel entrance, with additional spaces available at the spa entrance. Valet parking is also available.

The hotel has three generously sized lifts.

Dining

There is lift access from the main hotel entrance to Gillie’s Restaurant and McKendry’s Bar via Gillies Restaurant. There is an alternative exterior entrance to Gillie’s on the ground floor with permanent ramp access.

Fratelli Restaurant is an external stand-alone restaurant located across from Gillie’s Restaurant and has level access.

Accessible Accommodation

Accessible Superior King Room

• Located on the same floor as hotel reception.

• Two emergency pull cords: one beside the bed and one in the bathroom beside the toilet.

• Shower chairs with and without handles are available upon request.

• Grab rails and handrails can be fitted in the bathroom of the accessible guestroom.

Accessible Cottage Suite

• There are three emergency pull cords: one beside the bed, one in the bathroom beside the toilet, and one beside the shower.

• Shower chairs with and without handles are available upon request.

• Wall mounted shower chair.

• There are permanent grab rails, handrails, and a wall mounted shower chair in the bathroom of the accessible cottage.

Thermal Village

The Thermal Village has a lift.

The Thermal Village has an accessible changing suite and several accessible toilets.

Panda Hoist

We have a top of the range fully motorised, mobile pool lift. The Panda hoist has a unique electronics system so that each guest can be transported direct from changing rooms to poolside with no requirement for a wheelchair & no effort by the operator except for steering into position.

The Panda hoist can be used to allow guests to enjoy various facilities throughout the Thermal Spa Village. Once the lift is in position at the poolside, the chair is lowered into the water by an attendant operating the controls on the lift control panel.

Please advise our Reservation or Spa Reception Team should you wish to avail of the Panda Hoist.

Hearing Impaired Guests

We can provide a deaf guard, this will vibrate, light up and flash in the event of an emergency.

The lifts feature digital screens displaying floor numbers and hotel information.

Training

All Galgorm Resort staff have disability awareness training.

In July 2021, Galgorm Collection confirmed a three-year strategic partnership with the NOW Group which was the first-ever Gold Jam Card membership on the island of Ireland awarded to a hospitality partner.

JAM Card allows people with a hidden disability or communication barrier to tell others that they need extra time and understanding in a private and easy way.

Getting to the Resort

• Taxi – You can hire a taxi with E-Cabs - 028 2565 2200 or click here. ECabs have wheelchair friendly vehicles available.

• Train - There are two train stations nearby: Ballymena and Cullybackey.

• The nearest bus station is in Ballymena.
