Introducing SkinCeuticals at The Skin Clinic

16 January 2019

The Spa at Galgorm is delighted to introduce skincare brand of-the-moment SkinCeuticals as the latest in our renowned range of product houses.

With one simple promise to provide advanced skincare that's backed by science, we wanted to find out a little more from our very own Skin Expert Lyndsay on what you can expect from SkinCeuticals at The Skin Clinic. So, without further ado...

When SkinCeuticals was first introduced to us in late 2016, honestly, I thought to myself here comes another skin care brand. Having worked in the Spa for over 10years I have had the opportunity to try many brands however none quite compared to Aromatherapy Associates or Voya which we have loved and worked with for many years.

Since meeting with SkinCeuticals - the brand which promises to improve the health of your skin - in January 2017, we have had an exciting journey in opening our brand new Skin Clinic, learning the science behind the brand, researching advanced procedures and changing our thought process with regards to skin care.

As a religious cleanse, tone and moisturize twice a day, exfoliate and mask twice a week kind of girl it was difficult at first to get my head around how advanced skincare works.

With guidance from Elaine (our SkinCeuticals Business Development Manager) and in-depth training from her team I have watched in amazement as my skin began to change, from regular adult acne breakouts to clear, younger looking and more radiant in just a few short months. One year later and I can confidently nip out to the shop with out make up on (something I would never have dreamt of doing before!)

SkinCeuticals works (it really does!) on three key principles prevent, correct and protect.

Patented antioxidants such as Vitamin C & E, Ferulic Acid and Phloretin help prevent free radical damage by strengthening your skins defense against oxidative stress caused by the environment. This allows your skin to repair previous damage for visible anti-ageing correction. (Oxidative stress causes redness, breakouts, pigmentation, dullness and skin ageing – all things we want to avoid!)

Acids, vitamins and botanical ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, Vitamin A, B3 & B5 are prescribed to correct existing skin concerns. High-quality broad-spectrum sunscreens reflect and absorb UVA/UVB rays from the skin’s surface to protect against photoageing.

Our Skin Expert Facial includes thorough consultation with one of our skin experts before assessing your skin under our Skinscope scanner. After viewing your skin under daylight and LED light your skin expert will create your bespoke treatment and homecare plan.

Your treatment will include superior exfoliation in the form of SkinCeuticals Micropolish and or GL Peel – a mild, cosmetic grade AHA peel, a power house of ingredients with Glycolic and Lactic acid. It will also include a specialised mask for brightening, deep cleansing, hydration and calming or pigment correction to leave your skin feeling fresh, glowing and radiant.

Your skin expert will choose products to correct your skin concerns, advise you how to prevent further damage and protect your skin. Using the prescribed home care your skin expert recommends will enhance and prolong the results of your treatment.

In a nutshell SkinCeuticals delivers advanced skincare that is backed by science and proven to optimize healthy looking skin. As I watch my bathroom cabinet become packed with mostly SkinCeuticals products, I think it’s safe to say I am officially converted!
