Tell us a little bit about how you met & talk us through the proposal.
We first met at work in 2014. It was love at first sight for one of us, while the other took a little longer to come around!
After months of careful planning by Claire, we headed to Lough Eske in Donegal for a special weekend away. Waiting for us was a room filled with flowers and a bottle of champagne. Knowing that Victoria isn’t one for big public gestures, Claire chose the perfect private setting and got down on one knee. After the initial shock wore off, the answer was yes!!!
We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating in Donegal, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and perhaps one too many pints of Guinness along the way.

Why Galgorm?
Why Galgorm? Why not!
It has everything we could possibly want in a wedding venue – the beautiful gardens, luxurious rooms and, of course, the incredible spa. But what really stole our hearts was the magical atmosphere at Christmas. The festive decorations create such a special setting, which is exactly why we chose our wedding date. It simply felt like the perfect place for us to celebrate our big day.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day?
There were so many memorable moments throughout the day, but the highlight was, of course, hearing my wife say “I do.”
One of our favourite memories came after the wedding when our photographer, Kris Dickson, captured what turned out to be the perfect photo. Hidden in the background was the stork that seems to make an appearance every time we stay at Galgorm. We’ve affectionately nicknamed him “Storkie,”.
The food was another standout. It was absolutely fantastic, and so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and sharing such a special day with us made it all the more memorable.
