Elaine & Philip's Wedding
The Couple
Tell us a little about how you met
While studying Medicine at Queens, I had a part time promotional job. I was working one evening at an event in the Ramada Shaws Bridge, Belfast when I met Philip. I remember thinking he was so handsome and when he approached me, we immediately hit it off, we couldn’t stop talking. A few days later, he messaged me and we went for our first coffee date and I think I knew that day.. he was the one.
Talk us through the proposal
We got engaged on 2nd July 2016. Philip arranged a romantic dinner for us in The Oxo Tower Restaurant, London. We had such a great evening, we enjoyed a really beautiful meal along with a few delicious cocktails. When we finished dinner Philip said lets go on to the balcony. We went out to the balcony where there is an incredible panoramic views overlooking the Thames and the City of London. It was so stunning and we were the only people on the balcony. Philip turned to me and asked me to Marry him. I was so overwhelmed, shocked and ecstatic at the same time-of course I said yes.

Why Galgorm Resort & Spa
We both fell in love with Galgorm Resort and Spa. It ticked all the boxes for us and more. The hotel is beautiful and is set on such picturesque grounds. The Renaissance suite was stunning-both elegant and romantic- The perfect style for our wedding day.
What made you choose a Resort location
We are both from Northern Ireland but having lived in London, Philip and I had wedding guests coming from both near and far and so Galgorm Resort was perfect as it has everything you need in one location. For Philip and I it was really lovely to see our close friends and family for breakfast the next morning and we especially loved relaxing in the spa with everyone the following day and talking about our wedding day.

Advice for future couples
Our advice would be to enjoy the planning and lead up to the wedding as much as possible as it can be very stressful trying to ensure everything goes well. On the actual wedding day, cherish the short time you actually get to spend together as there are so many guests to thank and chat to! It is the most wonderful day and we wish we could do it all again.
