Catherine & Conor's Wedding
The Couple
Tell us a little about how you met
Conor and I met for the very first time in Nandos, Belfast in 2015. He was at a summer camp in Canada called Muskoka Woo.
Talk us through the proposal
Our first date as a couple was to Mulroy Bay in Donegal. We found it on a road trip and then went over to Fanad Lighthouse! Conor took me back here on the 25th May 2017 and got down on 1 knee at the jetty we found at Mulroy Bay!

Why Galgorm Resort & Spa
We loved the Galgorm as the setting is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. The food is top class and the fact that many of our wedding guests could stay over and enjoy the spa the following day was a big plus!!
What made you choose a Resort location
Conor and I went to the Galgorm Spring Bridal Showcase for a cup of tea with my Mum and Dad. We had only been together for 12 weeks!!! When we were there we absolutely loved the place. It was so beautiful and every member of staff was so friendly! After a 5 minute conversation, my dad suggests going to speak to a wedding planner just out of interest to get a price. By the end of the conversation, we had our wedding booked for the following Easter!!! Just a few months after we booked our wedding, unfortunately, my Dad found out that he had terminal cancer. A few weeks before he passed away, we decided to get engaged. Dad then organised with the Galgorm for Conor and I to have an overnight stay with himself and my mum in the Galgorm. The staff couldn't have done any more for us. Everyone was so helpful and kind, and we made some of the best memories ever with dad! Which I was so glad of, as he passed away only 13 days after this, and therefore didn't make it to the wedding day itself. Precious Times!!
Tell us the most memorable part of your day
We loved every single part of our day!! It really was out of this world, but one thing we definitely remember is our host for our wedding day - Graham. He was absolutely brilliant and treated us like royalty! Such a kind person and had absolutely everything in order the way we wanted it!!
Advice for future couples
Take 5 minutes in the Bridal Suite during the day to have a catch up and a drink with your other half! It can be overwhelming being surrounded by so many people all day long! It is nice to just chill out for 5 and let it all soak in!
