Claire & James' Wedding
The Couple
Tell us a little about how you met
Claire was on a gym night out, James was on a night out with friends getting practice in for a boy’s holiday. According to James, Claire grabbed his bum (she strongly denies this!) and the rest, as they say, was history.
Talk us through the proposal
It was 26/12/15 and James and Claire were in Dublin on a city break. James popped the big question in a place called the Cellar Bar. Claire was completely unaware what James had planned and spent the rest of the evening in tears (happy tears of course).

Why Galgorm Resort & Spa
Being from Manchester we required everything in one place – Galgorm had everything on our list: beautiful location, great outdoor space for photo’s, accommodation and the amazing spa and thermal village added a special touch. We were really impressed with the whole resort when we visited for the bridal day in March 2016 and could see our families and friends coming over to make our wedding a weekend event.
What made you choose a Resort location?
The award-winning facilities and excellent reputation the resort holds. Our guests were able to use the spa facilities throughout their stay.
Tell us the most memorable part of your day?
The whole day – from start to finish! Claire had breakfast and treatments in the Boudoir Room with her bridesmaids, page boy, mum & mother of the groom but obviously walking down the aisle stands out. Likewise, James watching Claire walking down the aisle looking stunning in her beautiful wedding dress to the music of our harpist singing (Amy Macalister) - A Thousand Years.
Advice for future couples
Make it a weekend event – we had four days at the resort, arriving two days before our big day. As soon as we arrived Galgorm took full control, this gave us two days to unwind and come the morning of the Wedding we were totally relaxed.
